NOTE: This fudge sauce contains whiskey, which is why it is called “Boozey” Hot Fudge Sauce! This is for adult tailgaters, only! Serve the little fans in your crowd the sauce WITHOUT the whiskey.

I am always on the lookout for dessert recipes to use during tailgates. In June, my father took Copa & me to Lynchburg, Tennessee which is seventy miles south of Nashville. And yes, it is home to the Jack Daniels Distillery!

This town has an incredible town square with lots of sightseeing! It was a special day with Dad! We visited the Old Jail, Miss Bobo’s, and also ducked into a Jack Daniel’s store. Of course, I headed straight to the JD cookbook. The collection of recipes are from Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House, a popular restaurant in town FULL of history. {affiliate link} (Psst: The author, Lynne Tolley, is Jack Daniel’s great-grand-niece!)

As a matter of fact, my Boozey Hot Fudge Sauce was adapted from a recipe in the book! Page 212, to be exact! If you are serving my Loose Meat Tavern Sandwiches at your tailgate party, this dessert sauce would be a TOUCHDOWN!

The Players on the Field:
Just 3 Ingredients!

  • Heavy cream (full fat!)
  • 8 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate
  • whiskey | We used a peanut butter flavored whisky. WOW. The peanut butter flavored whiskey with the chocolate….SCORE!

SO easy! Grab the ingredients, a saucepan & spoon, and your ice cream scoop! Pretty ice cream dishes can elevate an at-home ice cream bar tailgate party, and thisice cream scoop” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener nofollow”> ice cream scoop is very similar to ours. My brown ice cream dishes in these photos were my grandmother’s, and I haven’t found any just like them in years.
