This sauce. Oh my. It is delicious on french fries, as a chicken nugget dip, on hamburgers, Southern Fried Shrimp and on our Sriracha Shrimp Taco Bites! Say hello to Special Sriracha Sauce….

I have been making a variation of Special Sriracha Sauce for years. Except minus the sriracha sauce. I was a late arrival to the everything-sriracha-game. It just seemed SO spicy. And well, not everyone in my family is as crazy about spicy foods as I am. Even when I was on my 12 Week Weight Loss Challenge, I managed to work in Special Sriracha Sauce! And, when I went through my recent health hiccup (ok, it was a life-changer!) and nothing tasted good to me, this sauce always did the trick!

Special Sriracha Sauce a.k.a Boom Boom Sauce a.k.a Fancy Sauce

We fell in love with what we call in our house “Brennan’s Fancy Sauce” (or, BFS) after watching the classic Will Ferrell & Adam McKay movie Step Brothers. Yep, that’s my point of reference.

So simple. Catsup, mayonnaise, and garlic powder.

We were in HEAVEN. I made this classic sauce years before, but now it took on a whole meaning. This was, after all, Brennan’s fancy sauce! After the movie, we almost went to Winn-Dixie to purchase dinosaur nuggets. Almost.

My oven baked chicken nuggets with Brennan’s Fancy Sauce were on the regular summer supper rotation immediately. (We love homemade chicken nuggets in the heat of the summer. The leftovers are fabulous over a cool, crisp salad!)

But, fancy sauce is soooooooo 2008.

So what’s a girl to do? You guessed it…I introduced myself to sriracha. Yeah, I officially made it to the party and fell in love with Special Sriracha Sauce which is my spicy take on our original BFS.

After awhile, I saw versions of my Special Sriracha Sauce all over Pinterest; it was referenced as Boom Boom sauce in some regions of the country. Hence, the a.k.a. boom boom sauce notation!

I found a local sriracha sauce that I just love. It is bacon flavored…can you stand it??

You can use any variety of sriracha that you find at the grocery store, but we are hooked on Fat Cat’s Bacon Flavored Sriracha for our batches of Special Sriracha Sauce. Click here to try it yourself!

It’s fun to serve Special Sriracha Sauce in small ramekins just like these.  Everyone will feel special. 🙂

Special Sriracha Sauce {a.k.a. Boom Boom Sauce}

This slightly spicy sauce is a great dipping sauce for french fries & nuggets. It is delicious drizzled over shrimp tacos!

Ingredients

  

• 3/4 cup mayonnaise
• 2 tbs catsup
• 2 tbs sweet chili sauce
• 2 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• 2 tsp sriracha sauce

Instructions

 

• Mix together in a small bowl until blended.
• Cover & refrigerate for up to 3 days.
