This Easy Fruit Crumble literally is sin in a bowl! Lawd have mercy….it is soooo addictive! The beautiful colors of the fruits show off under a decadent crumble topping.

Why is it called sin in a bowl?

This dessert is sinfully good…..so rich and decadent! Sin in a bowl!

What’s the secret to this recipe? It’s simplicity.

Quality ingredients expertly blended come together for a STUNNING dessert!

If you are looking for a dessert for a potluck or to feed a crowd at a tailgate viewing party, look no further! EVERYONE will want this recipe.

This crumble travels well, making it very tailgate friendly! It’s best warm, but eaten cold or at room temperature is just a delish!

A dear family friend, who is an extraordinary cook, shared this recipe with me. Sometimes I like to offer a hot dessert, especially around the holidays or the Super Bowl, in addition to a “grab & go” dessert like our M & M Peanut Butter Blondies.

The Players on the Field

Ingredients for Easy Fruit Crumble a.k.a. Sin in a Bowl
  • 1 cup nectarines
  • 1 cup plums
  • 1 can sliced peaches, drained
  • 1 stick of high quality butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar

The Playbook for our Easy Fruit Crumble a.k.a. Sin in a Bowl!

  1. First, wash & chop your plums and nectarine. Drain the can of peaches.
  2. Spray an opaque pie plate with non-stick spray and dump the fruits into the plate. This pie dish (pictured below) is perfect for baking! It’s deep and fluted for an even bake.

Aren’t these summer fruits showing off?!?! GORGEOUS.

3. Mix together the brown sugar and flour. Pour in melted butter. Mix well until the mixture is slightly crumbly. It will be a soft crumble, not granular.

4. Next, crumble the flour/butter/sugar/butter mixture over the fruits.

5. Bake at 420 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until the fruits are bubbly & colorful and the crumble topping is slightly brown.

FAQs:

What if I do not have fresh fruits? Will this still work? YES! Canned fruits like apricots or cherries will work well, just make sure you drain them well.

Can I use pie filling instead of fruit slices? Fresh fruit slices or canned fruits work better than canned pie filling, as the pie filling has additional ingredients that take away from the simplicity and taste of the recipe. Stick with stone fruits for best results. A stone fruit has a soft exterior and a “stone” or a pit in the center that contains the seed.

Does it have to be refrigerated? Crumbles can traditionally sit out at room temperature for 2 hours, but beyond that it definitely needs refrigeration. Your cooler is your friend when you need to travel with the crumble! This Coleman cooler has been a work horse in our family for years. Yep, we have fancier & more expensive coolers, but we don’t like to drag those across the sand at the beach nor do we want salt air exposure on our pricey coolers. Our Coleman cooler has stood the test of time!
